Day 9 - Gratitude
For ignatius, gratitude is the first and most important step on the spiritual journey. An attitude of gratitude, practiced often enough, helps us find God in all things and can transform the way we look at our life and at other people.
Reading Psalm 100
A Hymn of Praise
1. A psalm of thanksgiving. Shout joyfully to the Lord, all you lands ;
2. serve the Lord with gladness ; come before him with joyful song
3. "Know that the Lord is God, He made us, we belong to Him, we are His people, the flock He shepherds."
4. Enter His gate with thanksgiving, his courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
5. good indeed is the Lord, His mercy endures forever, his faithfulness lasts through every generation.
Reflection
As I sat down after the whole day, taking care of myself and the children, there's one main gratitude which is the Holy Spirit that gives me the strength to do all these.
Honestly, taking care three children alone especially during holiday season is not easy. I even call it "premature aging in a week"
If I didn't write this daily journal, to pause and reflect back what the day has passed, my life will be like autopilot. Day by day, weeks by weeks, year by year will be the same and in the end, I lost my life purpose.
By writing this journal, I became aware of small little things that actually I can find joy and love in there.
