Simplicity is the way

This is the ninth day of my journey to rediscover my First Love, and today, I am inspired to embrace simplicity.

Finding God in the ordinary—in simple moments, everyday life, and the people around me.

Our God is a God of simplicity. When He was born, He did not come into a palace or even a proper home. Instead, He chose a humble manger, borrowed from a shepherd’s stable.

From the very beginning, He lived as a nomad—moving from Bethlehem to Egypt, then to Nazareth, where He spent years as an ordinary man, unnoticed as the Son of God.

He followed the customs of His time, choosing to be baptized even though He had no need for it, receiving the Father's affirmation of love before He had done anything.

Led by the Spirit, He entered the wilderness, where the devil tested His identity. Yet, after stripping Himself of all worldly attachments, He moved from place to place, touching the lives of ordinary people and living among them in simplicity.

He owned nothing—not even a home to call His own. Everything was borrowed. Even in death, His tomb was a gift from a fellow Jew.

To find Him and love Him as He is means embracing a life of simplicity—walking in the quiet, away from the distractions and noise of the world.

Lord, teach me to live simply, to seek only what I need rather than what I desire.

Help me to be content with what I have, for it is already more than enough.
