The Lord's Prayer

On Sunday, I searched the searching materials for our cell group teaching and found this audio about the meaning of the Lord's Prayer.
This simple and yet powerful prayer was thought by our Lord, Himself.

It has 2 big sections.

The first is
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed by THY name
THY kingdom come
THY will be done on earth as it is in heaven

The second section is
Give us our daily bread
Forgive us our trespasses as we have forgiven other's trespasses
Do not bring us to the temptation
But deliver us from evil.

The first section remind us when we pray, we praise and worship God first so that we can be as holy as He is, and we invite His kingdom which is love, peace, joy to be in our life and ask God to change our will and mind so that they conform with God's will.

Then, after our will conforms with God's will, we can pray the second section confidently.

Ask God as Father to give us our needs, it's not what we want. And beg God to have mercy and forgive us, however we need to forgive others first before God's mercy is able to come upon us. We need to let go the hatred, anger, revenge so that God's love can fill our cup.

Temptation/ test means sometimes we like to underestimate God and overestimate our strength, we ask God so that we don't overestimate our strength. Instead depend on God like a child fully depend on his/her father.

Last but not least, God never asks us to deliver us from suffering but from evil. Suffering sometimes is required to purify and bring goodness. But evil will separate us from the love of God.
