Reading : John 1 : 35 - 39
35. The next day John was standing there again with two of his disciples,
36. when he saw Jesus walking by "There is the Lamb of God!" he said.
37. The two disciples heard him say this and went with Jesus.
38. Jesus turned, saw them following him and asked "What are you looking for?" They answered "Where do you live, Rabbi?"
39. "Come and see," he answered. So they went with him and saw where he lived, and spent the rest of that day with him.
The Grace I ask for : Having sensitive heart to listen and courage to accept God's invitation to come and see
Prayer Method : Ignatian Contemplation
After reading for three times, I closed the bible and my eyes and imagined that I was one of this disciples.
John was talking about this man who has the authority, wisdom and the way he speaks is very different from other religious priests. We were wondering who's this man.
Suddenly, Jesus passed by and John noticed it and shouted that's the man.
We were so excited and curious so we followed Him and noticing that we followed Him, He turned around and asked what are you looking for ?
We asked him, where do you live ?
He told us, come and see
With this burning curious heart, we followed Him to His place where He lived.
It's very simple house and I saw Mother Mary who's doing household chores and preparing the food.
After Jesus greeted His mother, Mother Mary smiled at us and said please come in, have a seat and relax like at your home.
Mother Mary offered us the food and drink and joined us in the table.
Jesus said this is my home, very simple, no gold, silver or precious materials. I feel warmth, love and joy inside this house and seeing Mother Mary and Jesus always smile and laugh to each other really give me the sense of love.
I asked Him, can I stay here for the rest of the day ?
He answered, yes of course, my home is always open to everyone who wants to come.
He told me that He loves me so much, He doesn't care about what achievement or sins I have made.
He loves me as who I am.
Then, I told Him about my son.
We as parents never teaches him to lie but recently he's been telling the lies so often to us.
It may not big lie, but from this small lies, we always corrected and told him that's wrong.
We told him that we hate the lie but we didn't hate him as person. Sometimes it's so difficult not to scold and passing the hurtful remarks to him.
I asked Mother Mary and Jesus, what should I do.
Jesus told me that the redemption starts at home.
Father has chosen me and by His Grace, He invited me to come closer, have this intimate relationship and reveal His wisdoms to me. Like the bible said, God's wisdoms are foolish according to the world.
He told me that it's meant to be like this.
From this experience, we know that human is so fragile, how many times we want to keep ourself pure, we will fall back again to our original sins.
This is not different with your son, he may not want to lie, but this original sins dragging him back to do it over and over again and his conscience is full of guilt too when he realised that he has lied.
This is your opportunity to show him that God is love and merciful.
He may not have this idea about God's love and His mercy but with your action, he has the concrete idea that if my parents able to forgive and love him unconditionally despite his sins, God, His creator will be able to do more than that.
What you need to do is to love, forgive and telling him about the right thing to do and last but not least pray for him.
His changed of heart or experience God's love is all between him and God and it's all by God's grace.
You can't change him or make him a saint without sins because you are not God.
But just do your part and God will do the rest.
I felt so loved and comfort by His words.
There are things that not meant to be mine eventhough I am his parent because after all, he's not mine too. God entrusted him to us but he's still owned by God.
After that, Jesus told me that as much as you want to stay there forever, I have a task to do and He said that Holy Spirit will be my companion.
Last but not least, He reminded me that his home is always open when I'm tired, I just can come by anytime, do nothing and have a rest in His house.
Its such a wonderful and beautiful experience.
I thank Holy Spirit for always be on my side, reminds me and guides my path and helps me to make a choice and decision every time.
